Alien attack

Going on with the Space Hulk project, I just finished my first genestealer.
I wasn’t convinced by the color scheme from the game, so I created my own, based in the colors of my country flag: a yellowish hide (that tuned out brownish) with a insect green for the body.
I also painted a Space Marine with from the Ultramarine chapter, to test the colors. I liked very much the result, but I’m still in doubt whose is gong to be the winning chapter. I also inclined to try the Deathwing Terminators color scheme. (All suggestions are welcome).

From the sea to the space

I was so excited by Dreadfleet that I was taken by the moment and also bought Space Hulk (3rd version).
I always wanted to paint a space marine and a tyranid, and the miniatures from the game are just awesome.
I took an old box with space marines that I bought in e-bay and start to paint a Blood Angel, to get the feel of it before working with the game’s miniatures.
Here’s the result. The photos are gruesome, but I’m too tired to go back and retake them.
However, I don’t know if I go for the Blood Angels for the Space Hulk’s terminators or if I try another chapter (Space Marines, perhaps).
Also, I’m looking to buy some tyranids, to use as ‘bait’ for my brush before attacking the genestealers.

About the game: I liked it. It has the strategic side, but it’s the dices that make the winner. I played the first 5 sceneries from the Mission Book (unfortuneally alone) and it’s 3 to 2 for the Space Marines.

One Ent to hold then all

Finally I got my preciousssss….. ENT?
Yes, you read it right: it’s an ent, and not a ring.
I finally finished my Lord of the Rings collection, with the arrive of the final piece: the first version of the ent, in metal. That means that I got all the miniatures that were released until now for that collection (more than 1000 different miniatures, the last time I count it, including also horses, warmachines and items)*.
Now, the next step is just to paint and assembly the last 1254 miniatures, and them the collection will be not only be complete, but also ready.

* - just a little note: I don’t consider the same miniature in a different material as two different miniatures. What I mean: as I have the metal version of a miniature, I’ll not buy the same miniature because it is in resin (so, I didn’t buy all the Fine Cast release).

Smells like fish spirit

To celebrate the Halloween (even if it has already passed), here come the monsters.
The Seadrake, one of the most beautiful ship of the fleet, with his dragons.
On the other side, the hideous, stinking, rotting and infested carcass of the Skrabus. I take a lot of time to paint the interior of the beast, only to discover that it’s almost impossible to see it when the miniature is closed.
Also, to finish all the painting of this collection, the mini-mes: the little scout ships of all the fleet.
Now with all the ships ready, I’ll try to take a photo of all the ships… wait and see.

Material and immaterial evil

To face the elemental reinforce of the Great Alliance, the evil side responds in the physical and ethereal world.
From the deep comes the iron terror of the Black Kraken, and from the death’s veil, the Shadewaith.

Air, Water, Fire and …. Iron?

The four elements join the battle in the sea.
The elemental ship of the Golden Magus comes with the speed of the wind, the flow of the water and the rage of the fire.
For the earth, none could represent that as good as the dwarves in their iron clad.
